SUPERHERO HALL OF FAME
Everyday more and more MedStar Health employees are revealing their Superhero qualities by coming to the rescue and giving blood. While it's impossible to recognize everyone (especially those who choose to keep their good deed a secret), we are pleased to share a few of the faces, names and stories of our heroic blood donors.

7-TIME DONOR SETS THE BAR HIGH: Meet Jan Carver, Good Samaritan
Hospital's "Wonder Giver" - or top blood donor - for 2005. Jan
wowed everyone at the hospital's Donor Recognition Luncheon when it
was announced that she had given seven times in one year. "It's just
not possible!" one frequent donor exclaimed, as others scratched
their heads. In fact, it really is possible, if you give within the
first two weeks of January and give every 56 days thereafter. Jan
began giving two years ago. "A good friend was having surgery and she
wasn't able to give her own blood for it, so I gave mine since we
were a match; I've been giving regularly ever since." Jan also brings
along her "blood buddy" - the friend who had the surgery two years ago!
